David Muniz; through Orlando he brings the Magic to Boca Raton Coming by way of Mickey's and Minnie's place, David Muniz played high school ball (a three-sport athlete) at Lyman High in Longwood, 10 miles up the road from Orlando.
Playing for Bill Caughell at Lyman, he earned accolades as First team All-State, All- Central Florida and All-Conference. In addition, he played in the North and South Florida All-Star game and the Central Florida All-Star game.
After reading the Media Guide, (http://fausports.com/) Muniz tells us he is grateful for all the opportunities he's been given.
He mentions how appreciative he is for being given a scholarship, and wants to make his family proud. Muniz enjoys playing special teams and earning offensive opportunities.
In 2007, he played in thirteen games and contributed 30 yards as a kick returner. In that same year, he caught for 20 yards and rushed for 48 yards. In 2008, he played 11 games.
At the New Orleans Bowl he contributed a career high rush of sixteen yards with two solo tackles. For his career, Muniz stacks up with 9 solo tackles and three assists.
In 2007, up against teams such as OSU, Kentucky, and Memphis - he played an integral role on special teams and stepped up on defense too. In 2009, he was a redshirt, which bring us to his Senior season.
So we go to the 2010 season and the Owls find themselves with an even record of one apiece. One for and one against, FAU is in the preparation faze culminating the two weeks off, to next play the North Texas Mean Green at Lockhart Stadium in Fort Lauderdale on Saturday, September 25th.
